Bach Orchestral Suite No. 3

May2
8:00 PM
Featuring Air “on the G String”
Saturday, May 2, 2015

Bach’s regal Orchestral Suite No. 3, most beloved for its Air “on the G string,” exudes 18th-century elegance. Almost 200 years later, Poulenc revived the unexpected mix of Baroque grace and humor in his Concert champêtre, which features a solo harpsichord part, played here by Mahan Esfahani. The CSO completes this charming program with Stravinsky’s arrangement of preludes and fugues from Bach’s The Well-Tempered Clavier.

Please be advised that NFL Draft will disrupt both CTA and normal traffic routes in the area of the Auditorium Theater and Grant Park South. Certain streets around the Auditorium theater are closed until May 8. If you plan on parking at the Grant Park South Garage, please plan on entering the garage from the North at Adams and Michigan. Please allow for additional travel time to and from Symphony Center for your event. For more information about these street closures and NFL Draft, please visit cso.org/draft.

April 30 Ticketholders: Please be advised that the NFL Draft at the Auditorium Theater on April 30 will have additional street closures in the loop (including Wabash Avenue) and along Michigan Avenue. The Grant Park South Parking Garage will still be accessible to CSO ticketholders, but patrons must enter the garage from the North at Adams and Michigan.
