Muti Conducts Tchaikovsky Manfred

8:00 PM
Scriabin, Tchaikovsky
Thursday, June 11, 2015

Tchaikovsky’s Manfred Symphony, based on Byron’s dramatic semiautobiographical poem is among the composer’s most brilliant and affecting inspirations. Its themes of tender love and exquisite longing find a perfect complement in Scriabin’s fervid Poem of Ecstasy. The extraordinarily colorful orchestration reverberates with sensuality and intimate emotion.
