Rei Hotoda, whose “conducting is a well balanced mixture of freedom and control,” (Columbus Dispatch), leads Civic in Four Sea Interludes, celebrating the centennial of Britten’s birth. Beethoven’s Eroica, regarded as a turning point in music history, is known for its groundbreaking portrayal of death, rebirth, strife and resistance.
