Friday, May 9, 2014

Brilliant Canadian pianist Marc-André Hamelin plays Haydn’s lively and witty Piano Concerto in D Major. “The exuberance with which he plunged into the classical repertory evoked something ebullient, delighted and filled with breathtaking energy, like a child plummeting into a swimming pool” (The Washington Post). Internationally acclaimed for his interpretations of eighteenth century music, Bernard Labadie conducts the First Symphony by Haydn’s greatest pupil, Beethoven.
