Monterey Jazz Festival 55th Anniversary
Friday, March 22, 2013
Celebrate the longest-running jazz festival in the world! The Monterey Jazz Festival kicked off in 1958 with its first lineup that included artists like Dizzy Gillespie, Louis Armstrong and Billie Holiday. This star-studded presentation spotlights the “traditional-untraditionalist” attitude, jazz-with-a-purpose exuberance and joyful fun that continue to be the hallmarks of the festival to this day.
This event is a part of the Chi-Town Jazz Festival. As part of this collaboration, volunteers will be taking donations in the lobby before and after the concert—for a $25 donation, patrons will get a chance to win a 5-concert subscription for two for the 2013/14 SCP Jazz series!
