A world premiere by Mason Bates marks the final MusicNOW concert, which opens with a showpiece on the topic of summer from Chris Theofanidis. As part of the CSO’s RIVERS exploration, two electro-acoustic “water pieces” from composers Marcos Balter and Kaija Saariaho round out the program.
Don’t forget after every MusicNOW, hang out with the composers, performers and audience members while enjoying complimentary Exchequer pizza and Goose Island Brewery beverages in the Harris Theater lobby. Free to all MusicNOW ticketholders.
Pre and post-concert modern electronica DJ set provided by Justin Reed (illmeasures Chicago).
