Cristian Macelaru, associate conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra, joins legendary pianist Yefim Bronfman for Bartók's stunningly virtuosic Second Piano Concerto, a work for which Bronfman earned a Grammy® Award in 1997. The concert opens with Debussy's delicate Prelude to The Afternoon of a Faun and Bartók’s Divertimento for String Orchestra, one of his most lighthearted and joyful works that features intricate interplay between a small group of solo instruments and full ensemble.
