Mozart, Brahms
Thursday, January 17, 2013

Edo de Waart, Chief Conductor of the Royal Flemish Philharmonic and Music Director of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, conducts Brahms’ beloved Fourth Symphony. The music shifts moods dramatically from a dark, tragic opening to a rousing dance in the third movement, which was so popular in Brahms’ lifetime that audiences demanded it be repeated. Opening the concert is Mozart’s final symphony, the revolutionary Jupiter.

Program

  • Mozart  Symphony No. 41 in C Major, K.551 (Jupiter)
  • Brahms  Symphony No. 4 in E Minor, Op. 98
