Encounter the orchestra through one of the most enduring forms of music—the symphony. Members of the CSO and Edwin Outwater demonstrate how orchestras capture the beauty, drama, energy and excitement of music that has dazzled and captivated audiences for hundreds of years! This concert will use cutting-edge image magnification technology to give the audience an up-close and personal look at all the instruments and musicians of the orchestra.
Each performance is preceded by a series of educational preconcert activities, including performances by students from local community music schools, composition activities with musicians from the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, an Instrument Petting Zoo and visual art activities presented by the Art Institute of Chicago. We invite you to arrive at Symphony Center one hour before each performance for these activities.
Recommended for ages 5 and up.
Tesori is now serving lunch on the weekends! Make your reservation now or call 312-786-9911.
