Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony

Mar11
8:00 PM
Schubert/ Golijov/ Copland
March 11, 2010

We present an intriguing combination of works on this program, featuring Schubert’s well-known Unfinished Symphony. Jessica Rivera joins the orchestra for She Was Here, Mead Composer-in-Residence Osvaldo Golijov’s rich orchestration of four Schubert songs, and settings of Emily Dickinson’s poetry by both Copland and Golijov. Appalachian Spring is Copland’s quintessential masterpiece, capturing the spirit of American optimism.

Program

  • Golijov  She Was Here
  • Copland  Emily Dickinson Songs
