Examples of Planned Gifts

Naming the CSO in your will or trust to receive a percentage of your estate. After making provisions for your family and friends, this is the most common form of planned giving. Our legal name is Chicago Symphony Orchestra an Illinois not-for-profit organization, and our federal tax identification number is 36-2167823.

Naming the CSO as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or IRA account. This arrangement can help your heirs avoid taxes which are due when any retirement asset is redeemed.

Establish a charitable gift annuity with the CSO that pays you a quarterly dividend. You will receive regular income at attractive investment rates and will likely be entitled to tax savings. Contact us for a personalized confidential quote, at no obligation.

Tax savings, current cash payments, supplemental support for family members and friends — these and other benefits are available depending on your circumstances and objectives. All planned giving donors enjoy the benefits of membership in the Theodore Thomas Society, named in honor of the founding music director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
