MUSICORPS® PROGRAM GOALS
- Goal 1: Training
-
GOAL 1
TRAINING
Members participate in a variety of workshops and training sessions that provide valuable techniques for reaching audiences of all ages. For those with all ranges of teaching experience, these are a precious resource.
- Goal 2: Mentorship
-
GOAL 2
MENTORSHIP
Members work as mentors for young musicians. In doing so, they provide access to personal musical tutoring that might not otherwise be possible.
- Goal 3: Concerts
-
GOAL 03
CONCERTS
Members work in chamber groups to perform interactive and educational concerts for a variety of audiences and age groups. Audiences include Chicago Public Schools, Chicago Park District sites and a variety of other community venues around the city.
Many MusiCorps concerts are performed privately for pre-selected groups through the Music Activity Partnership program and other Access programs within the Institute.
If you are interested in seeing MusiCorps in action, In the Park with Civic concerts are open to the public and no tickets are required. These interactive and educational performances are a great way to introduce your family to the four instrument families of the orchestra. Families with children ages 5 and up are encouraged to attend.
Concerts are indoors unless otherwise noted. Dates and times subject to change.
- Goal 4: Building for the future
-
GOAL 4
BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE
