In partnership with various community-based organizations and schools throughout Chicago, AIM annually offers hundreds of participants the opportunity to experience CSO Family Concerts at Symphony Center. Preparation for these concert experiences begins at each partner site, where volunteer docents and ensemble of CSO musicians introduce young listeners to elements of the performances they will attend. On the days of each of the three Family Concert programs, participating families enjoy guided preconcert music-making activities.
AIM helps to break down barriers to participation by offering free tickets and transportation to each concert. By offering high-quality musical performances and learning opportunities both in familiar neighborhood spaces and at Symphony Center, AIM strives to broaden each participant’s enjoyment and appreciation of music, while nurturing a sense of connection to the CSO, Symphony Center, and the myriad of music institutions in the city of Chicago.
AIM is a joint project of the League of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association and the Negaunee Music Institute.
Elizabeth Morse Genius Charitable Trust is the generous sponsor of this program.
