Rob Kistler moved to Chicago in 2010 to study at DePaul University with Marc Damoulakis of the Cleveland Orchestra, and Eric Millstein of the Chicago Lyric Opera. Kistler has performed with Chicago Civic Orchestra, Grant Park Festival Orchestra, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in Rendsburg, Germany, and Chamber Opera Chicago. He has performed under the batons of Christoph Eschenbach, Michael Tilson Thomas, Leonard Slatkin, and Alan Gilbert.
Rob Kistler received his Post-Master’s Certificate from DePaul University, his Master’s degree from The Juilliard School, and his Bachelor’s degree from SUNY Purchase College Conservatory of Music. Kistler grew up in Blairstown, NJ and when not playing percussion, he enjoys rooting for his favorite hockey team, the Pittsburgh Penguins.
